The Opportunity
As the Coordinator Community Impact, you'll lead a small team responsible for strategic planning, community safety, access and inclusion, evaluation, and community insights. Your work will support stronger evidence‑based decision making across Council and ensure community voice is embedded in the actions we take.
You'll work closely with a wide network of internal and external stakeholders such as community groups, service providers, and other government bodies. Your leadership experience will help build capability, strengthen collaboration, and mature our approach to how we respond to community needs. You will shape and guide major initiatives including community safety, access and inclusion, social research and insights, and evaluation frameworks that inform Council's priorities and decision‑making.
This is a role where you'll influence meaningful outcomes, contribute to safer and more connected communities, and be part of a supportive environment that encourages you to bring your ideas forward.
This is a Permanent position. Salary from : $109,530 up to $130,956 per annum, plus superannuation. (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications)
Under Part 2, Section 6 of the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012, this position has been designated as requiring a paid Working With Children Check.
How you'll make a difference
In this role, you will:
- Lead, mentor and support your team to deliver high‑quality planning, community safety, access and inclusion, and evaluation functions.
- Use community insights, data and evidence to shape organisational planning, policy and service delivery.
- Develop strategic and operational plans that strengthen community wellbeing, resilience and accessibility.
- Partner with communities to understand lived experience and ensure diverse voices inform decisions.
- Build strong internal and external relationships that support collaboration and co-designed solutions.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities using structured project management approaches.
- Oversee financial planning, resource coordination and risk management processes.
- Promote Council's values of Respect, Integrity, OneTeam, Sustainability and Courage in all aspects of your work.
About you
You're someone who leads with clarity, purpose and curiosity. You enjoy working with complexity and know how to translate insights into action. You bring a blend of strategic thinking and practical delivery, with the confidence to guide a team through growth and change. You bring:
- Skills in strategic and operational planning and can translate insights into practical solutions.
- Experience managing and delivering community programs and services.
- A strong capability in community engagement, evaluation, and evidence‑based decision making.
- Strong leadership skills that build capability, encourages collaboration and creates a positive team culture. Experience communicating with influence and can build trust with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering high‑quality outcomes in fast‑paced environments.
- Hold a relevant degree and either have or are willing to obtain a paid NSW Working With Children Check
