The Opportunity
As the Coordinator Inclusive Communities, you'll guide a committed team of Inclusive Communities Officers who bring deep knowledge, passion and connection to their work.
Together, you'll translate community aspirations into practical initiatives that create real impact.
You'll build strong relationships across Council and the sector, partner with communities to elevate their voice, and help shape inclusive approaches that align with our broader strategic goals. This is a space where your ideas matter and where you'll be supported to influence, innovate and drive continuous improvement.
This is a permanent position. Salary from : $109,530.17 up to $130,956.20 per annum, plus superannuation. (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications)
Under Part 2, Section 6 of the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012, this position has been designated as requiring a paid Working With Children Check.
How you'll make a difference
In this role, you will:
- Lead, mentor and support your team to deliver high‑quality programs that strengthen inclusion, access and community capability.
- Oversee the design, delivery and evaluation of community initiatives, grounded in lived experience and strong engagement.
- Use community insights to inform practical actions, policies and partnerships that enhance wellbeing.
- Drive planning that aligns team activities with Council's inclusive communities priorities.
- Build collaborative internal and external relationships, including community groups, government agencies and partner organisations.
- Lead change with confidence, fostering a culture that values continuous improvement and shared problem‑solving.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities using structured project management approaches.
- Ensure safe work practices and meet WHS and child safety responsibilities
You'll shape and embed renewed approaches to inclusion and community capacity building, strengthen your team's capability, and help assess and evolve programs to ensure they continue meeting community needs.
About you
You bring clarity and confidence to your leadership, and you know how to support experienced team members while guiding them through change. You value expertise, listen deeply and bring people along with you, even when you're challenging the status quo. You'll thrive in this role if you:
- Have experience in community development and applied experience in access, equity and social justice.
- Understand how to turn strategy into practical action
- Have experience with building strong internal and community partnerships based on trust, respect and shared outcomes.
- Are confident managing and delivering multiple programs or services at once.
- Have the communication and conflict‑resolution skills to navigate robust conversations and diverse advocacy perspectives.
- Are committed to fostering a collaborative team culture while supporting individual growth and performance.
- Hold a relevant degree and either have or are willing to obtain a paid NSW Working With Children Check
