$66,299 to $74,273 per annum (based on 70 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation and a 9 day fortnight. Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience

About the role
The role of the Council Meetings and Governance Officer has key input to the effective running of Council’s monthly Meetings involving the co-ordination and timely production, printing, and distribution of Council Meeting Business Papers, Agendas, Minutes and Actions. It also is responsible for ensuring overall preparation for Council Meetings, including technical set up of electronic equipment in Council Chambers. The role supports the organisation by liaising with relevant members of staff on an on-going basis regarding advice and requirements in respect of other matters associated with Council Meetings. Attendance is required at Council Meetings to take the Minutes of the meeting.
In addition, it has responsibility for a number of key functions servicing the organisation such as administration of the security system for the Administration Building and providing general administrative support to the Branch.
Position requirements
- Demonstrated experience in an administrative role
- High level computer literacy, particularly with MS Word
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in a Local Government or similar environment
- Experience in preparation of business papers or agendas
- Understanding of Council Meeting procedures
- Experience in drafting Minutes of formal meetings
- Experience working with electronic business systems such as TRIM, InfoCouncil or similar
About you
The position of Council Meetings and Governance Officer is situated within the Governance and Customer Service Branch of the Corporate Support Division. The Governance and Customer Service Branch provides a broad range of services to Council’s internal and external customers and covers such areas as: Governance and general administration, Council’s light vehicle fleet, Council’s organisation wide Customer Service Unit, access to information and records management.
