Salary

$85,010 to $95,198 per annum (based on 70 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation and a 9 day fortnight. Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience. A vehicle allowance will also be provided.

About the role

The Road Safety Officer position the following major components:

  • Communication and engagement with community on road safety related matters
  • To research, develop and implement plans, programs and campaigns aimed at increasing road safety and active transport
  • Increase awareness among residents, community groups, government agencies and other key stakeholders in the Hornsby Shire of road safety issues
  • Seek continued funding for Council’s road safety program
  • Prepare regular reports and attend meetings with stakeholders as required
  • Program management of development and delivery of community engagement

Position Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Education, Behavioural Sciences, Communication, Marketing or Engineering, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence

  • Awareness of Road Safety education traffic management
  • Knowledge of safe systems and other approaches for addressing road safety issues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
