Join our award-winning team in this exciting temporary opportunity, where you'll partner with managers, coordinators, and team leaders to deliver meaningful community engagement initiatives that support Council's strategic priorities. You’ll design surveys, interpret customer analytics, and provide data-driven insights to guide decision-making across the organisation. As a key partner, you’ll help enhance community participation, shape engagement strategies, and build strong relationships with stakeholders both within and outside Council. You'll find growth through:

  • Partnering with internal teams to develop and deliver engagement plans for a diverse range of projects, aligned with Council's Community Engagement Strategy and Framework.

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver meaningful and effective community engagement outcomes.

  • Designing engaging digital consultation experiences and managing projects through Council's YourSay platform, from planning and delivery through to evaluation.

  • Strengthening organisational capability by providing guidance, advice and support on contemporary community engagement principles, practices, and tools.

  • Applying advanced analytical and statistical techniques to interpret community feedback and prepare high-quality reports that support evidence-based decision-making.

What you'll bring

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration, Communications, Community Services or a related discipline; or relevant formal/industry qualifications with significant experience in Community Engagement, Communications, Community planning, Social Sciences or a related field
  • Demonstrated practical experience in planning, delivering and evaluating engagement projects using different methods such as survey design
  • Demonstrated practical experience in digital skills including updating websites using content management systems
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication and research skills
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to prioritise and work, in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.

We would also love you to have:

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to collect, collate and analyse qualitative and quantitative data to identify and report on themes
  • Completed IAP2 Community Engagement Certificate or willingness to obtain

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $91,698 to $106,566 Pro Rata plus superannuation.
