About the role:
- Lead the delivery of transport and traffic services across the Tweed, managing staff, budgets, strategies, and the provision of expert transport engineering advice.
- Develop and implement transport facilities, policies and systems that align with engineering best practice, Safe System principles, legislation and Australian Standards.
- Improve community road safety through data analysis, crash investigations, targeted initiatives, stakeholder collaboration, and the management of signage and line marking across the road network.
- Support the strategic planning and development of road, active transport, public transport and freight networks to meet the needs of a growing regional community.

We are seeking:
- Degree-qualified Civil Engineer or transport engineering professional with extensive experience in traffic and transport engineering, management and infrastructure delivery.
- Demonstrated expertise in transport planning, traffic management, engineering standards, best-practice principles, and the application of transport policies and government strategies.
- Proven leadership experience managing high-performing teams and delivering transport projects and programs, including budgeting, cost control and resource management.
- Strong understanding of asset management principles and their application to transport infrastructure and services.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, with proficiency in transport engineering software including SIDRA and transport modelling programs.
