Find purpose and impact
Our new Coordinator Works and Maintenance will be responsible for coordinating the construction, installation and maintenance of Council’s open space, recreation and natural resource assets across the Dubbo region. The role oversees day‑to‑day delivery of works programs, manages contractors, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and supports the transition of new assets from construction to ongoing maintenance. They will also contribute to project planning, asset condition monitoring, and reporting to ensure high-quality community facilities are delivered and maintained.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Coordinating construction and installation of small-scale open space and recreation assets such as playgrounds, park furniture, pathways and signage.
- Overseeing scheduled and reactive maintenance programs for parks, playgrounds, reserves and sporting facilities across Dubbo and Wellington.
- Managing contractor services, ensuring compliance with service level agreements, safety standards and quality expectations.
- Monitoring asset condition, maintain accurate records, and recommend repairs, upgrades or replacements as required.
- Coordinating small to medium construction projects including timelines, budgets, site safety, procurement and stakeholder updates.
What you'll bring
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Asset Management, Parks and Recreation Management, or related discipline, or extensive demonstrated experience in construction and maintenance management in lieu of formal qualifications.
- Extensive experience in coordinating and delivering construction and maintenance programs for parks, recreation facilities, or similar public infrastructure, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Highly developed communication and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to manage teams, engage with diverse stakeholders and coordinate effective service delivery.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in managing construction projects including budgeting, scheduling, quality assurance, and contractor management.
- Proven experience in asset maintenance planning, scheduling and resource management for public infrastructure.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and maintenance practices for outdoor infrastructure including playgrounds, parks, sporting facilities, and associated structures.
- Experience using asset management systems and work order management software.
We would also love you to have:
- Qualifications or experience in project management (e.g., Certificate IV in Project Management Practice)
- Trade qualifications or demonstrated competency in carpentry, joinery, landscaping, or related construction trades.

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $104,751 to $132,086 (pending qualifications). A leaseback vehicle is also available.
