Find purpose and impact
As our new Curator you will make an impact by being responsible for leading the development, delivery and management of exhibitions and cultural programs across the Dubbo region. They would coordinate exhibition planning, installation and documentation, manage the Regional Artist Program, and support collection management and digitisation activities. The role also involves building strong relationships with artists and stakeholders, contributing to public art initiatives, overseeing WHS processes, and supervising staff involved in curatorial and exhibition tasks
You’ll make an impact by:
- Planning, curating and coordinating internally curated and touring exhibitions, including object selection, exhibition design, installation and de-installation.
- Managing administrative and curatorial processes such as contracts, transport, insurance and WHS procedures for exhibitions and cultural programs.
- Overseeing the Regional Artist Program, including promotional activities, application processes and adjudication.
- Supporting collection management through registration processes, research, digitisation and maintaining content for online collection portals.
- Supervising curatorial staff, coordinating communication, and fostering strong working relationships with community and cultural sector stakeholders.
What you'll bring
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in the Arts/Visual Arts/History and/or Museum Studies or related field
- Demonstrated curatorial management and/or exhibition management experience, within the context of a public art gallery and/or museum.
- Demonstrated ability of exhibition programming and policy development relevant to an institution, a community, and the museum/gallery sector.
- Demonstrated experience in the development of business plans and management of financial systems and budget control, including exhibition budgets.
- Personal and team skills required to work with culturally diverse groups within the community, including First Nations groups.
- Demonstrated ability to work to tight deadlines and manage a demanding schedule.
We would also love you to have:
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral with proven ability to write correspondence and reports.
- Demonstrated experience in developing partnerships and collaborative relationships with state or national institutions.

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $96,537 to $112,191.
