Position Overview
The Civil Crew Member - Traffic Control position plays a crucial role in supporting Council operations by providing essential traffic control services and engaging in various laboring tasks. This position is vital in maintaining and constructing Council assets while ensuring safety and efficiency on the job.
Working under the supervision of a Team Leader, you will perform a range of construction and maintenance labouring duties and provide traffic control.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, a clear understanding of traffic control measures and experience in providing traffic control. You should be able to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Demonstrated experience and qualifications in traffic control, including a ticket for Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Plans
- A General Induction for Construction Work Certificate (White Card)
- Ability to interpret and implement technical plans and work schedules effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with team members, supervisors and the public.
- Physical capability to perform labouring tasks associated with civil construction and maintenance.
You will also have basic computer skills for asset management and a willingness to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
What we offer
- A permanent full-time position, 38 hours per week, with the opportunity to work a 9-day fortnight
- Commencing salary range from $58,042 - $61,595 per annum (based on qualifications and experience)
- An Adverse Working Conditions Allowance (Level 1) of $19.49 per week in accordance with the applicable award
- Plus 12% superannuation
