Team Leader Traffic Control

  • Lead traffic control tasks to support Council operations.
  • Manage and develop staff performance within your team.
  • Implement and monitor traffic control plans and compliance with safety standards.
  • Contribute to the construction and maintenance of Council assets effectively.

Position Overview

The Team Leader Traffic Control is responsible for leading traffic control tasks and providing support for the construction and maintenance of Council assets. This position requires a proactive approach to managing resources and ensuring compliance with relevant safety legislation and Council policies.

In this role, you will develop and implement traffic control plans, including supervising staff and managing resources to deliver positive outcomes. You will also perform a range of construction and maintenance labouring duties for the construction and maintenance of public assets.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional who possesses a strong background in civil construction and traffic control. The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective leadership and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience and qualifications in traffic control, including a ticket for Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Plans.
  • Proven experience in traffic control on public roads and infrastructure.
  • Strong skills in staff management, customer service and communication.
  • Ability to interpret technical plans and manage resources effectively.
  • Physical capability to perform labouring tasks associated with civil construction and maintenance.
  • Hold a General Induction for Construction Work Certificate (White Card) and a current NSW Driver's License (Class C) with the ability to obtain a LR class.
  • Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent (or ability to obtain).
  • Working Under Overhead Power Lines accreditation or ability to obtain within probation.

What we offer

  • A permanent full-time position, 38 hours per week, with the opportunity to work a 9-day fortnight
  • Commencing salary range from $67,943 - $72,102 per annum (based on qualifications and experience)
  • An Adverse Working Conditions Allowance (Level 1) of $19.49 per week in accordance with the applicable award
  • Plus 12% superannuation
