POSITION VACANT STOREPERSON

The Council is seeking applications from suitably qualified and/or experienced staff to manage the operations of Council’s Store to ensure timely and compliant supply of materials, equipment, and resources that support Council’s services and contribute to the safe and efficient service delivery across the Shire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate procurement and inventory management. Ensure timely requisition, receipt, and stock control of materials and consumables in line with Council policies. Conduct stocktake and reconcile inventory. 
  • Maintain operational readiness of stores and workshop. Oversee stock levels, equipment, and safety gear to support service delivery and compliance.
  • Work in conjunction with the Yardperson and support depot operations. Supervisory skills in communication of instructions, training and checking of work may be required.
  • Manage fuel and assist in the management of chemical storage. Monitor fuel levels and ensure safe handling and storage of chemicals in accordance with SDS requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting. Use Council-approved computer programs and paper based systems to document inventory, equipment usage, and operational activities to support audit readiness.
  • Coordinate vehicle usage and Depot access. Manage pool vehicle bookings, key control, and ensure depot facilities are secure and operational.
 Essential requirements
  • Certificate III in Warehousing Operations or equivalent substantial experience in Warehouse operations.
  • Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence.
  • Forklift operations licence
  • Chemcert certification
  • White Card (Construction Induction)
  • Intermediate ability in the application of the Microsoft Suite of products.

Condition of employment

  • A commencing hourly rate of $31.31 will apply.
  • Satisfactory health assessment, drug and alcohol screening, police and working with children check is a pre-requisite to an offer of employment.
  • Appointment to the position will be in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award and Council’s salary structure.
