An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced Rehoming Officer to join our team. This newly created position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the Animal Rehoming Program which includes the selling, rescuing, and fostering of animals at Camden Council's Animal Shelter.

Essential:

  • Certificate IV Animal Behaviour & Training or closely related discipline and/or equivalent industry experience
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and experience in the application of the Companion Animals Act 1998, and Australian Animal Welfare standards
  • Statement of Attainment (Implant microchip in cats and dogs)
  • Experience working in Animal Shelters or Rescue Organisations
  • Experience in Animal handling, assessment, enrichment programs and rehoming procedures
  • A demonstrated high level of knowledge and experience in dealing with marketing and promotional work
  • Ability to liaise and network effectively with internal staff, customers, rescue groups, foster carers, and organisations such as Animal Welfare League (AWL) and RSPCA
  • Excellent communication and public relations skills
  • Experience in the management of the NSW Companion Animals Register
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing
  • Photography and videography skills
