We are seeking self-motivated and customer focused individuals to join our Regulation and Compliance team in taking a proactive approach of regulatory functions to ensure compliance with both Council's and the community's expectations.
In the role you will:

Conduct patrols and inspections across the city to monitor compliance with parking regulations, animal management requirements and local laws

Investigate customer requests, complaints and reports of non-compliance, applying relevant legislation, policies and procedures to achieve fair outcomes.

Support the administration and enforcement of companion animal legislation, including animal handling, education and compliance activities
-
Issue warnings, infringement notices and other regulatory documentation in accordance with legislative requirements and Council policies.

Engage with residents, businesses and visitors to educate and promote compliance with parking, animal management and community regulations.

Maintain accurate records, prepare reports and contribute to investigations and regulatory actions to support community safety and amenity
- Promote best practice when administering and enforcing regulatory standards through effective detection, investigation and resolution of matters in accordance with legislation.

About you:
-
- Possess a high degree of resilience, accountability and professionalism in everything you do
- Qualifications (or enrolled) in law enforcement/investigations or Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services)
- Experience in a customer facing or customer service related roles and knowledge in a regulatory/enforcement environment
- Ability to handle difficult situations through sound negotiation, conflict resolution and mediation skills
- Strong verbal communication and ability to communicate calmy and effectively with a diverse range of people
- Excellent written communication, including an ability to write and prepare accurate reports, which may be used in court
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and follow reasonable work directions in an accurate and timely manner.

- Temporary full time, part time or job share arrangements may be considered for the right applicant up to January 2027 with possibility of extension
- Full time position - Working 38 hours per week with the opportunity to work a 9-day fortnight, including weekends
- Part time / job share positions - Monday to Friday working 7.6 hours per day. 8:30am - 4:36pm with a 30-minute break
- Commencing salary range from $73,554 - $81,209 per annum based on full time (dependent on qualifications and experience)
