Landscape Technical Officer (Horticulture)

An opportunity exists for a motivated and detail‑focused Landscape Technical Officer to join Council’s Engineering and Subdivision Certification team. In this part‑time role, you will provide technical support on landscape and horticultural matters, contributing to quality development outcomes that enhance our community.

Working within a collaborative and professional environment, you will assess and review landscape, recreation and sporting facility plans, undertake site inspections, and provide technical advice to support development and certification outcomes and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and Council requirements while facilitating the handover of privately developed landscape infrastructure into Council’s care.

This role offers flexible part time role, with the ability for hybrid working arrangements, making it ideal for someone seeking a balanced and meaningful career in local government without direct staff supervision responsibilities.

About you: 

You will be a qualified landscape or horticulture professional with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
You will bring relevant qualifications, knowledge of planning legislation, experience interpreting plans and preparing reports, strong organisational skills and a current driver’s licence.

    • Commencing salary range from $80,010 - $88,338* per annum (pro-rata) *with an award increase from July 2026
