About the Role

As Coordinator Transport, you will be part of the Transport team delivering well-evidenced and collaboratively developed transport strategies and plans via a project led approach that will shape the future of the City of Ryde. You will be well supported in this work and get to roll your sleeves up to gain diverse experience on genuine city-shaping projects and initiatives.

The Transport team’s work focuses on advocacy, strategic planning, active transport, and the integration of land use and transport. Your work in the Transport team will involve supporting the preparation and implementation of transport strategies and plans, with reference to integrated land use and transport, sustainable transport, active transport and other relevant documents aimed at shaping the future of City of Ryde’s transport.

You will assist the Senior Coordinator and Manager Transport in developing Council reports, bulletins and leadership team briefing notes with reference to transport matters, providing evidence-based recommendations and clearly articulating the multidimensional implications of Council decisions.

You will also assist in the review of major development proposals for the City of Ryde through development pathways including State Significant Development Applications (SSDA), State Significant Infrastructure Projects (SSI), Development Applications (DA), Review of Environmental Factors (REFs) and pre-lodgement review/consultations.

 

About You

You will be collaborative, strategic and a team player who is looking to expand your career in a forward-thinking organisation. You will have strong technical skills in transport planning, including the ability to assess the feasibility of options, build and analyse evidence, and make sense of complex issues and communicate it to others.

In addition, you will also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in an associated area such as transport planning, infrastructure planning, urban and regional planning, transport engineering, urban design, or geography;
  • Experience in transport planning, strategy or policy including the ability to develop and transport plans and strategies, particularly in the field of Active Transport;
  • Sound knowledge of modern people and place-focussed approaches to transport planning;
  • Familiarity with the NSW planning system;
  • Experience in the preparation of technical briefs relating to traffic and transport studies and the management of consultants and contractors with a focus on outcomes;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with senior staff, government agencies, contractors and stakeholders at all levels;
  • Strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage competing tasks, meet deadlines and achieve targets; and
  • Demonstrated conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy and guidelines for a variety of audiences.

 

Your commencing annual salary will range from $91,245.60 to $118,619.28 + Superannuation, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
