The opportunity
Do you like working with numbers and helping people? We're inviting applications for a Revenue Clerk to join our Rates Division on a permanent, full‑time basis. This is a great entry‑level opportunity for someone starting out, returning to the workforce, or looking to build experience in a supportive and team‑focused environment. You'll become part of a close‑knit, customer‑focused Rates team working in a fast-paced environment. With hands‑on training and exposure to a broad range of revenue and rating processes, this role involves a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and working within legislative frameworks while providing high‑quality customer service and finance administration skills, with possible opportunities to grow and progress over time.
This is a permanent full time 35 hour per week position. Salary from : $69,551 to $78,929 per annum plus superannuation . (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications)
A minimum increase of 3.25% to the salary from 1 July 2026 in accordance with Council's Enterprise Agreement.
What you will be doing
As a Revenue Clerk, you'll play an important role in supporting Council's revenue services and ensuring accurate, timely and customer‑focused outcomes. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:
- Processing a variety of rates and revenue transactions, such as direct debits, pension concessions, waste adjustments and supplementary valuations
- Maintaining accurate records for ownership, property, rates, charges and debtor information
- Responding to customer enquiries in a professional, empathetic and solution‑focused way
- Working closely with internal teams and liaising with external agencies, including government bodies and service providers
- Supporting billing, recovery and debt management activities in line with policies and legislation
- Completing data entry, reconciliations and compliance checks with a strong focus on accuracy
- Rotating through different tasks across the Rates and Billing teams to build your skills
- Contributing ideas for process improvements and supporting a positive, collaborative team culture
About you
You don't need extensive experience in revenue or local government; however, this role is well‑suited to someone who enjoys structured, detail‑focused work, can follow procedures accurately, and is comfortable learning systems and legislation while delivering respectful customer service. We'll support you with training and guidance as you build your skills and confidence.
You will bring:

- Strong numeracy and literacy skills
- Accurate data entry and attention to detail
