Oberon Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Utilities Manager to lead the delivery of our water, wastewater and waste management services. The role will also support the planning and delivery of Council's new Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), a key infrastructure project for the Oberon community. About the Role

As our Utilities Manager, you'll oversee the operation, maintenance and improvement of key infrastructure including water treatment, sewer networks, pumping stations and the waste facility.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading teams across Council water, wastewater and waste operations
  • Managing annual works programs, maintenance schedules and capital  projects
  • Ensuring compliance with NSW Health, EPA, DCCEEW and other regulatory bodies
  • Delivering operational excellence, great customer service and safety-first culture
  • Overseeing budgets, grants, procurement and contract management
  • Driving major initiatives such as landfill cell development and strategic planning. 
The successful applicant will have 
  • ​Tertiary qualification in Civil or related engineering field
  • Strong experience in municipal infrastructure, water, sewer or similar industries
  • Proven leadership capability with diverse teams
  • Experience in maintenance, construction, procurement and contract administration.
  • High level problem-solving and decision making skills
  • Commitment to safety, compliance and community services
  • Project management experience and knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Current Class C drivers licence and construction induction white card
