This position is a great opportunity for an experienced leader to manage a newly formed portfolio. As Manager, you will lead the civil infrastructure, fleet, biosecurity and open spaces, setting clear goals, monitoring performance, resolving issues, and fostering a positive, high-performing team culture in a professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead construction, maintenance and renewal of roads, drainage, bridges and civil infrastructure, including TMR, DRFA/REPA and other funded programs.
  • Oversee traffic management and heavy vehicle permit decisions and represent Council on relevant committees.
  • Lead maintenance and enhancement of parks, open spaces, streetscapes, sports fields and playgrounds.
  • Manager Council’s fleet and plant, including procurement, maintenance, compliance and optimisation.
  • Oversee biosecurity programs to prevent and manage invasive pests, weeds and diseases, ensuring compliance and protection of regional land and waterways.
  • Provide technical advice and reports to the Director and Executive team.
  • Maintain effective relationships with community groups, authorities and government agencies.
  • Prepare and manage the unit budget, ensuring alignment with Council goals and proper grant management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to respond to industry reforms, innovation and best practice.

What We Offer

An attractive remuneration package up to $210,000, based on skills and experience is offered which includes salary, superannuation, motor vehicle allowance, leave loading and locality allowance.

The position is offered on a two - five-year contract, subject to successful candidates’ preference.
