Salary Range: $82,394 - $95,755 per annum + superannuation
Are you ready to take ownership of your role and lead programs that truly make a difference in children’s lives?
Warrumbungle Shire Council is seeking motivated and flexible senior educators (Diploma qualified) to join our team as Children's Services Coordinator. This is a unique opportunity to shape your role, apply your creativity, and drive programs that reflect your passions, while supporting families in our community. Whether your interest lies in arts, play-based learning, wellbeing, or educational innovation, you’ll have the freedom to bring it to life.
As Children's Services Coordinator you will lead key areas across our early childhood, mobile play and out-of-school hours care (OOSH) programs. You will facilitate and deliver high-quality programs, ensuring the needs of children from diverse backgrounds are met. You will work with children across early childhood or OOSH settings, supporting transitions, fostering development, and maintaining continuity of care. Your experience and adaptability will ensure programs remain engaging, inclusive, and responsive to the community you serve.
You’ll also play a leadership and mentorship role, guiding a team of educators to deliver quality care while providing opportunities for professional growth. Collaboration is at the heart of this position—you’ll work closely with colleagues, families, and community partners to strengthen service delivery, promote engagement, and build meaningful connections. Your leadership, creativity, and proactive approach will be essential in shaping a dynamic and supportive team environment. You will also contribute to embedding strong child safety practices across the service, working alongside senior leadership to ensure compliance, quality, and continuous improvement remain at the forefront.
Our ideal candidate will hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent ACECQA-approved qualification), have centre-based or OOSH experience, and a genuine passion for leading and mentoring educators. You’ll be adaptable, highly organised, and motivated by the opportunity to make a real difference in a diverse community.
You'll join a team that is passionate, creative, and collaborative, bringing energy and dedication to everything we do. We work together to deliver engaging programs and community events, let our individual passions shine, and support each other to grow professionally—all while creating a nurturing and inclusive environment for children and families.
If you’re looking for a role where your passion, flexibility, and leadership can shape the future of early childhood education and care, we want to hear from you. We have two positions available - 1 permanent full time, and 1 full-time term contract for up to 2 years, both based in Coonabarabran. These positions will work predominantly in either our OOSH or mobile play sessions.
Our OOSH program provides supervised care and recreation for primary school-aged children (5-12 years), emphasising play, social interaction and recreation activities while our mobile play service supports isolated families with young children in their learning and development prior to starting school, particularly those children aged 0 to 5 years who do not have access to other Early Childhood Services such as Preschool or Long Day Care.
