Visitors Information Centre Customer Service Officer Casual
- Provide a positive, professional, and courteous customer experience through effective communication, timely responses to enquiries, accurate maintenance of forms and procedures, and appropriate resolution or escalation of issues to relevant staff or management.
- Ensure efficient opening and closing of the Visitor Information Centre in accordance with established procedures, including set-up of displays, point-of-sale systems and facilities, securing the premises, balancing tills, and completing all required checklists.
- Deliver high-quality and engaging cheese tastings supported by comprehensive product and retail knowledge, while ensuring full compliance with food safety standards, maintaining exceptional presentation and cleanliness across all areas, actively promoting and upselling products, and enhancing overall visitor satisfaction and sales performance.
- Coordinate bookings for local tours, attractions, accommodation, and experiences using relevant systems, while promoting commissionable products and services to support local businesses and revenue targets, ensuring accurate information and seamless visitor experiences.

Position Overview
The Visitor Information Centre Customer Service Officer is responsible for administering the daily operational functions of the Centre, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery. The position plays an integral role in maintaining high standards of customer service while supporting overall daily operations.
The position delivers effective frontline customer service through reception duties, processing point-of-sale transactions, and undertaking accurate cash handling procedures. The role also supports volunteer coordination, contributing to a well-organised and collaborative team environment.
Through the consistent delivery of professional, friendly, and high-quality service, the position contributes to maintaining a welcoming atmosphere that positively reflects the reputation of the Visitor Information Centre and Circular Head Council.
Work conditions will be in accordance with Circular Head Council Enterprise Agreement.

Candidate Profile
Council is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Visitor Information Centre Customer Service Officer with demonstrated experience in frontline service delivery and tourism support. The successful candidate will display professionalism, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach to working within a team environment while delivering high-quality visitor experiences.
- Knowledge of local and regional geographical and tourism assets, or the demonstrated capacity and commitment to develop this knowledge promptly.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team and contribute positively to workplace culture.
- Well-developed time management and administrative skills, with proficiency in social media platforms, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and point-of-sale systems.
- Availability to work across a rotating seven-day roster, including weekends as required.

Salary and Benefits
The successful candidate will earn an attractive hourly rate of $34.45 PLUS 25% casual loading, super and a range of benefits including:
