About the role
This position is responsible for providing high-level, holistic support to Councillors across administrative, advisory, executive and project or ward-based functions. The role acts as a key liaison between Councillors, Council staff, stakeholders and the community, ensuring effective communication, coordination and governance for all Council-related matters.
On a daily basis you will:.
- Provide high-level administrative and executive support to Councillors, including managing correspondence, service requests, meeting coordination and enquiries.
- Prepare high-quality communications, briefings, reports and presentations for Councillors, Council and Committee meetings.
- Investigate ward issues raised by Councillors and coordinate timely responses across operational areas of Council.
- Manage and support community consultation activities and stakeholder engagement processes.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal teams, Councillors, community members, government bodies and external organisations.
- Manage complex and politically sensitive information with confidentiality, diplomacy and sound judgement.
- Ensure correspondence, advice and actions align with Council’s strategic vision, policies, legislation and governance requirements.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a experienced professional, who thrive in a fast-paced, highly sensitive and politically complex environment. You bring strong judgement, exceptional communication skills and a collaborative approach to supporting senior stakeholders.
You will also bring:
- A minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience providing high-level executive or administrative support, ideally within local government or a similarly politicised environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex correspondence, stakeholder relationships and competing priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships and communicate across a wide range of stakeholders, including Councillors, executives, staff and members of the public.
- Ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion.
- Must hold a current NSW Driver’s Licence.
What’s on offer
We are offering an attractive remuneration from $104,610.61 to $115,174.86 plus 12% superannuation.
