$66,303 to $ 74,250 per annum (based on 76 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation and a 9 day fortnight. Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience

About the role

In your new role you will Supervise a work crew in the safe and efficient undertaking of maintenance and upgrading activities for Council’s public works infrastructure in a safe and efficient manner.Duties of the position include (but not limited to):

  • Assist the Technical Officer in assessing and planning for work site projects
  • Manage and be responsible for people on the work site including, but not limited to, the work crew and contractors
  • The efficient and effective use of resources on the work site including, but not limited to, the work crew, contractors, plant, equipment, tools and materials
  • Carry out work on issued orders ensuring work instructions to workers on site are carried out in an efficient and timely manner
  • Responsible for Work Health and Safety requirements for people on the work site
  • Complete administration and paperwork as required

Position requirements

  • Current Class C Driver’s licence – manual transmission (essential)
  • Current Construction Induction Certificate (White Card) - essential
  • MR Class Driver’s Licence (desirable)
  • Current Confined Spaces certificate (desirable)
  • Current Traffic Controller – Stop/Slow certificate (desirable)
  • Power line awareness (desirable)

About you

Your good oral and written communication skills are essential to ensure directions and instructions are carried out promptly and accurately. In addition, your strong influencing and leadership skills are required to steer the crew to complete work activities on time and within estimated costs. Your ability to enthuse and motivate staff and to provide on the job training will be most sought after.
