Join our dynamic team where you’ll play a key role in costing, bank reconciliations, and ensuring accurate general ledger allocations, while also providing valuable backup support across the unit.
About the role:
- Support daily financial operations by allocating cash receipts and payments in the general ledger and assisting with the Bank Reconciliation process.
- Provide administrative and financial support to senior Finance Officers, including grant reporting, Balance Sheet reconciliations and other financial reporting tasks.
- Create Purchase Orders and process cost allocations in TechOne, covering stores, fuel, small plant, payroll deductions and cost corrections.
- Conduct stocktakes across multiple areas including Stores, the Art Gallery, Museum and Pools, ensuring accurate record‑keeping and compliance.
- Manage documents using Council’s Record Management System and provide backup assistance across Financial Services functions such as Payroll and Accounts Payable.

We are seeking:
- A candidate who has successfully completed Year 12 supported by accounting studies and/or practical accounting experience.
- Someone with demonstrated knowledge and experience with financial accounting systems and the bank reconciliation process.
- Strong competence in spreadsheet use, with the ability to interpret, analyse and present financial data.
- An individual with a solid understanding of accounts payable and payroll functions.
- A clear communicator with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to apply knowledge effectively to resolve issues within the scope of the role.

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
