The role

We’re a dynamic, committed and close-knit team who are passionate about environmental health and genuinely enjoy the work we do. An exciting opportunity is now available for a motivated individual to join our team of Environmental Health Officers within the Environmental Health and Regulatory Services Department. 

You don’t need prior experience working in environmental health or to be based in the local region to be successful in this role. What matters most to us is your positive attitude, willingness to learn, and your ability to demonstrate a strong foundation to meet the requirements of the position. A current Class C driver’s licence is essential.

In this role, you’ll support the delivery of high-quality environmental and public health services to the MidCoast community. Your primary focus will be within the On-Site Wastewater Management section, where you’ll assist with the assessment, approval and monitoring of on-site septic systems.

Salary: Commencing salary circa $75,000 p.a. plus superannuation (part time hours)

A vehicle arrangement will be made with the successful candidate for this role. Council will provide you with a leaseback vehicle for an annual fee calculated as 20% of the gross purchase price. This is a fully maintained vehicle for both business and full private use with no additional expenses in normal use.

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent, Part Time (28 hrs. per week)
