Do you enjoy leading from the front and taking pride in well-maintained public spaces? The Team Leader Urban Services plays a vital, hands-on role in maintaining and improving the town’s parks, gardens, sporting grounds, streetscapes and community facilities. This position combines practical outdoor work with day-to-day leadership, ensuring urban services are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard for residents and visitors alike.
As Team Leader, you will coordinate and motivate a small crew, preparing work schedules, supervising staff and contractors, and ensuring compliance with Council policies, WHS requirements and codes of conduct. You will work alongside your team in maintenance and construction activities, safely operating plant and powered equipment while setting the standard for professionalism, teamwork and safety. Responding to after-hours emergencies and supporting operational priorities will also form part of this role.
This position is ideal for a proactive, solutions-focused leader who enjoys variety and responsibility, and can balance supervision with active participation in daily tasks. You will manage workloads, contribute to budget control, maintain accurate records and provide advice to the Senior Supervisor and Manager on resources required to meet service demands while working hands-on with your team. A strong focus on continuous improvement, staff development and efficient service delivery will help ensure the town’s public spaces remain safe, functional and visually appealing.
Above all, you will be a visible and positive representative of Council in the community. Through high-quality work, responsive customer service and well-presented facilities, you will help enhance local liveability and community pride. If you are a reliable, hands-on leader who enjoys working outdoors and making a real difference every day, this role offers a rewarding opportunity close to home.
This position is located in Coolah. Situated on the picturesque Coolaburragundy River and nestled in a valley of the Liverpool Range, the town is surrounded by undulating hills and fertile river flats and is an attractive service town for the surrounding agricultural district. Only an hour south east of Coonabarabran, close to major centres, and with the nearby Coolah Tops National Park offering rugged natural beauty and adventure, Coolah delivers the best of country living.
