About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Planner known internally as Senior Town Planner. You'll be making decisions that support the growth and development of the City of Ryde into the future! You will be involved in large scale developments which will shape the landscape for the community of Ryde.
In this role, your focus will be primarily on the assessment of large and complex developments in the Ryde Local Government Area. You will also be assessing simple residential development proposals and offering support to junior staff by mentoring. Due to the strong emphasis on complex developments, you will have a demonstrated ability to independently manage complicated applications within a timely and professional manner.
You will be a member of a professional, dedicated and enthusiastic team of development assessment staff and have experience in presenting applications to the local and regional planning panels, as well as defending appeals in the NSW Land and Environment Court. You will provide expert advice to both internal and external customers and stakeholders. You will also contribute to process improvements to proactively respond to legislative changes.
About You
You bring to this role demonstrated practical experience in dealing with simple to complex development applications, system improvements and mentoring of junior staff. You're a highly organised professional who prides themselves on their ability to make sound decisions, work efficiently in a high volume environment, provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders using your excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills in development assessment.
In addition, you will also have:
- Tertiary qualification in Town Planning or equivalent
- Excellent project management and organisational skills with ability to undertake a range of tasks and prioritise work to meet deadlines
- Practical experience and exposure to preparing reports and presenting to Local and Regional Planning Panels and the Land and Environment Court
- Current NSW Class C Drivers Licence
- Experience with the NSW Planning Portal, Technology One, Content Manager, Objective Trapeze, or similar software is highly regarded
Your commencing annual salary will range from $108,604.71 - $141,186.12 + Superannuation dependent on your experience and qualifications.
