About the role:
- Lead the design and delivery of progressive strategies across talent development, capability building, recruitment and workforce planning.
- Act as a strategic partner to Council leaders, translating organisational priorities into impactful, data-driven talent and capability initiatives.
- Drive leadership development and succession planning to cultivate a high-performance culture and future-ready workforce.
- Position Council as an employer of choice through the strategic attraction, development, and retention of skilled and engaged talent.
- Provide expert guidance in organisational design, workforce planning and strategic People & Culture partnering to enable long-term success.

- A base salary ranging from $119,030 per annum with performance-based increments up to $132,348 per annum, plus 12% super

We are seeking:
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Organisational Psychology or a related discipline, with proven experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated success in leading end-to-end talent and capability functions within complex organisations.
- Expertise in change leadership, organisational design and driving culture transformation initiatives.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships across all levels.
- Advanced communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a track record of delivering workforce capability improvements.
- Desirable: experience in local government, proficiency with HRIS and learning platforms and familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel).

Where it's located:
This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
