As the Risk and Emergency Coordinator, you’ll be a key player in shaping the risk management practices at Dubbo Regional Council. You’ll work across all areas of the organisation with a strong focus on maintaining and enhancing the risk and control environment to ensure effective management of potential hazards and compliance across the diverse portfolios in Council. You will also contribute to strengthening our community through Local Emergency Management support and education.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Overseeing Council's Risk Management framework.
  • Conducting and supporting comprehensive risk assessments across various operational areas.
  • Creating a uniform approach across Council for Risk Management practices.
  • Managing the review and maintenance of the Emergency Management Plans and emergency coordination in accordance with legislation and best practice.

 

What you'll bring

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications in Risk Management, Emergency management or related discipline or equivalent demonstrated experience in Risk or Emergency management.
  • Demonstrated training, knowledge and experience in Emergency and/or Risk Management.
  • Proven experience undertaking a thorough risk assessment process identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
  • Experience in conducting audits and inspections to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations.
  • Knowledge and experience with safety management systems and related technology.

We would also love you to have:

  • Experience in local government across the breadth of business activities

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $88,171 to $102,468
