The opportunity

Wollongong City Council is looking for a Records Management Officer to join our team and help lead the way in records and information management.

In this role, you'll work side-by-side with a fellow Records Management Officer, sharing ideas and responsibilities to deliver innovative, effective solutions. You'll also collaborate with members of the broader Information Management and Technology team, contributing your expertise to ensure Council's physical and electronic records are well-managed throughout their lifecycle-including appraisal and disposal. A key part of your role will be delivering training and tailored advice to staff across the organisation, empowering them to capture and manage records accurately and consistently.

We're looking for someone with demonstrated project management experience in records management, who can contribute to key initiatives and help embed continuous improvement across our systems and processes.

What your day-to-day might look like:

  • Collaborating with your teammates to manage Council's records lifecycle
  • Leading and supporting records-related projects, including optimisation of our Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS)
  • Delivering engaging training sessions and providing expert guidance to staff
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing innovative solutions
  • Ensuring compliance with records management policies and best practices

This is a Permanent Full-Time position. Salary from : $88,389 to $99,044 per annum plus superannuation (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications)
