Employment Status Term Contract - up to 12 months
Employment Arrangement 35 hours per week with access to Council’s Agile Work Policy
Salary Range Commencing from $80,171.00 (Grade 12 Step 1) plus 12% Superannuation. The successful candidate will have access to step increases based on competency assessment and tenure within the position.

Strathfield Council (Council) is a medium sized Council located in Sydney’s Inner West. The area of the Council comprises approximately 14 square kilometres and has an estimated population of 46,000 residents, which is growing at 2.5-3% annually. Based on NSW Government projections, the population will increase to over 80,000 by 2036.
About the Opportunity
Strathfield Council is seeking an Executive Assistant to join our team on a temporary, full-time basis.
This position provides high-level administrative, secretarial, and coordination support for the Director, Corporate and Community to ensure the efficient administrative operation of the Corporate and Community Directorate, including document management, stakeholder communication, and compliance-related tasks.
About you
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Certificate III in Business Administration or higher and/or relevant work experience in a similar environment.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in the delivery of quality administrative support at a senior level with proven attention to detail.
- High level computer literacy, including experience with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Well-developed written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience handling sensitive situations with discretion and confidentiality.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High level organisational skills with experience in managing and prioritising workflow.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to effectively operate computer systems preferably Civica and CM10.
- Experience of Local Government (desirable)
