About the role:

This position plays a key leadership role in shaping and delivering the organisation’s governance and information management functions. Leading a committed team of professionals, you’ll deliver a wide range of strategic and operational initiatives that strengthen transparency, accountability, and compliance across the organisation. You’ll be at the forefront of ensuring Council meets its legislative responsibilities under the Government Information (Public Access) Act, Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act, Public Interest Disclosures Act (PID), and the Local Government Act

We are seeking:

  • Tertiary Qualifications to degree level in a relevant discipline and/or relevant
    experience and training.
  • Lead and manage governance functions, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practices.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain governance policies, registers, and corporate delegations.

  • Oversee access to information and privacy processes, ensuring legislative compliance.

  • Engage effectively with stakeholders, facilitate workshops, and deliver clear presentations.

  • Analyse complex governance issues and provide strategic advice to leadership.

Where it's located:

This position is based in Murwillumbah, and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
