About the opportunity
Blacktown City Council has an exciting new permanent, full-time role for an experienced and high-performing professional with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement. This is a great opportunity to drive business and service planning in one of Australia’s largest and most dynamic councils.
You will be part of an outstanding Integrated Planning and Reporting team, providing insight to decision makers. Working across the organisation at all levels, you will coordinate business planning, analyse and present results to contribute to service improvement, and support the business to implement change.
In this position you will:
• Develop business planning systems incorporating Council and service-level KPIs across information systems and work processes
• Update and facilitate the review and development of Council IP&R and other organisational documents as required, including service information and commitments for the annual Operational plan, informed through the business planning process
• Continually investigate and implement improved service planning and reporting systems that will support Council's diverse range of business activities
• Adhere to statutory and legal requirements
• Promote and maintain a positive corporate image
• Initiate, design and develop projects, programs and/or strategies to address identified IP&R needs.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
• Degree qualifications in business or a relevant field
• Solid relevant working experience
• Proven ability to analyse, interpret, and visualise datasets to derive actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making
• Demonstrated experience in corporate or integrated planning, reporting and performance measurement
• Sound understanding of the NSW Local Government Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework
• Highly developed computer skills, with capacity to administer, train and support users in a corporate software system
• Ability to negotiate with key stakeholders to transfer and clarify various types of business data into meaningful information
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly developed organisation and time management skills and proven ability to meet challenging deadlines.
Essential:
• Broad local government experience
• Current class C driver's licence.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
• Entry level for this position starts at $2,165.24 per week
• 35-hour working week
• Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
