Project Support and Improvement Officer

SALARY: $1,755.24 - 2,010.91 pw + Super

Work Type: Temporary Full Time up to 5 years

Are you passionate about driving improvement and supporting impactful community projects? We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Project Support and Improvement Officer to join our Major Projects team on a temporary basis for up to five years.


About the Role

This role is central to the success of our capital works program. You'll provide operational and administrative support to the Project Management and Public Domain Design Teams, helping to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively. Your work will directly contribute to improving systems, processes, and team performance across the branch.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate meetings and distribute outcomes to ensure alignment across teams.
  • Administer funding agreements and monitor compliance with project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a high-level program to track project milestones.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to provide timely and accurate project information.
  • Champion business improvement by identifying opportunities for process enhancements and supporting the implementation of innovative solutions.
  • Maintain branch resources including templates, procedures, and document control registers.
  • Assist with contract procurement processes and ensure data integrity.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, documentation, and presentations.
  • Promote a strong customer service culture and uphold Council's core values.

What We're Looking For


Essential:

  • Proven ability to recognise needs and implement improvements to systems and processes.
  • Experience developing and preparing reports, documentation, and presentations relevant to project management and coordination.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
  • Highly developed time management skills with a demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate multiple activities and projects with competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver quality outcomes
  • High level experience using CAMMs or similar project management software.
  • High level experience in Microsoft Suite applications

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience in project and contract administration
  • Understanding of Local Government operations, processes, procurement, and administrative procedures
  • Experience using Microsoft Power BI and Promapp
