About the role:
- Lead and oversee the delivery of high-quality aquatic programs, including learn to swim, coaching, and aqua aerobics, across Council’s aquatic facilities.
- Supervise, mentor, and roster aquatic program staff to ensure consistent service quality and adherence to industry standards.
- Engage with the community, including class participants, parents, schools, and groups, to ensure programs meet evolving needs and expectations.
- Monitor and evaluate program performance and promotional activities to achieve community participation and financial targets.
- Support operational continuity by participating in an on-call roster and assisting with various duties as required by the Supervisor Aquatic Facilities.

We are seeking:
- Relevant qualifications in sports coaching, fitness, or Swimming Australia coaching, with experience in developing and evaluating aquatic programs in a similar facility environment.
- Proven expertise in delivering aquatic programs such as learn to swim, coaching, and aqua aerobics within community aquatic centres.
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills, with a track record of achieving organisational goals through effective team management.
- Excellent administrative and technical skills, including report writing, cost management, and use of spreadsheets and point of sale systems.
- Current certifications including Pool Lifeguard, First Aid (HLTAID001 & HLTAID003), and a valid NSW Working with Children Check.

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
