Employment Status Permanent, Full time
Employment Arrangement 35 hours per week with access to Council’s Agile Work Policy.
Salary Commencing from $77,877.80 (Grade 12, Step 1) plus 11.5 % Superannuation. The successful candidate will have access to step increases based on competency assessment and tenure within the position.
About the Role
The position is responsible for all aspects of procurement management and the tendering function of Council. This includes effective procurement of goods and services, monitor internal procurement systems, provide procurement assistance and advice to Council staff, review and negotiate supplier agreements, seek ways to improve efficiencies and ensure purchasing compliance.
About You
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated knowledge and experience in procurement.
- Well-developed negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
- Demonstrated customer service skills and high-level communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Practical experience with exposure to purchasing and procurement procedures, budget management, business process improvement, contract/agreement management, tender evaluations, and audit procedures.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to set priorities, manage variable workloads and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to attend concurrently to a number of competing matters.
- Ability to review systems, processes and procedures and implement improvements in procurement.
- Proven ability to provide training to all Council staff with regards to procurement requirements and associated matters (Desirable).
- Up-to-date knowledge of current trends in purchasing (Desirable).
- Experience in the use of CM10 and Authority-Civica systems (Desirable).
