Employment Status Permanent, Full time
Employment Arrangement 35 hours per week with access to Council’s Agile Work Policy.
Salary Commencing from $117,408.20 (Grade 21, Step 1) plus 11.5% Superannuation. The successful candidate will have access to step increases based on competency assessment and tenure within the position.
Council Overview
Strathfield Council is a medium sized Council located in Sydney’s Inner West. The area of the Council comprises approximately 14 square kilometres and has an estimated population of 46,000 residents, which is growing at 2.5-3% annually. Based on NSW Government projections, the population will increase to over 80,000 by 2036.
About the Role
The Senior Coordinator, Corporate Planning & Performance is responsible for provide leadership and strategic coordination of Council’s corporate planning, performance, and continuous improvement functions. This role is responsible for driving a culture of service performance and innovation across Council through the implementation of a structured business improvement and best practice service review program.
The position leads the development, integration, and reporting of key strategic documents under the NSW Integrated Planning & Reporting (IP&R) framework, including the Community Strategic Plan, Delivery Program, Operational Plan, and Resourcing Strategy. It also supports the development of strategic policies and related projects through high-quality research, analysis, and advice.
A key focus of the role is fostering collaboration across Council to identify opportunities, enable Council’s Service Review framework, and change, and develop project plans that deliver tangible outcomes. The Senior Coordinator builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the successful delivery of Council’s priorities.
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Qualification in relevant post-graduate study highly regarded.
- Extensive experience in business improvement.
- Extensive experience in Integrated Planning and reporting.
- Extensive experience in the preparation of Annual reports or similar.
- Extensive experience in the preparation of Award nominations.
- Extensive experience in project management and reporting.
- Extensive experience in policy framework management and policy development.
- Extensive experience in report writing and presenting across all business levels.
- Proven experience in the development and day to day running of a business improvement. framework and/or service review program.
- Proven experience in the management of grant processes.
- Proven experience in developing Award nominations.
- Proven experience in collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders at varying levels across an organisation.
- Sound financial acumen.
- Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
- High level verbal and written communication skills.
- Corporate management skills in a diverse organisation to establish goals and objectives.
