Position Overview

Circular Head Council is seeking a motivated and adaptable individual to join our dynamic Information Technology team full-time. This opportunity is intentionally broad and can be shaped to suit your skills and experience – whether you're just starting your tech journey or bring years of hands-on expertise. From frontline support and systems maintenance to cybersecurity and digital content creation, your role will evolve alongside our innovative projects and growing needs. You'll work across various platforms and departments, making a meaningful impact on the way Council connects and operates. Remuneration will be aligned with your experience and capability, and you'll be supported by a collaborative and values-driven environment. 

The Information Technology Officer will be responsible for maintaining the ICT and communication systems of Circular Head Council. This role includes providing timely support to users, maintaining the digital image of the Council, and assisting in the planning of future ICT requirements. You will serve as the first point of help desk support and contribute to enhancing the knowledge and confidence of users in technology.

As part of your role, you will assist other teams within the Council and may also provide support to other councils as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain application software and ICT hardware.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support and manage help desk enquiries.
  • Assist in maintaining the Council’s external website and social media accounts.
  • Support the development and administration of information management systems.
  • Help maintain information security and backup systems.

Please note there is only one position available, we will consider candidates ranging from a trainee to a Certificate IV.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise or the willingness to learn and exceptional communication skills. You should demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • PD050 - Traineeship will be provided.
  • PD058 - Minimum Certificate III in Information Technology Support or equivalent experience.
  • PD053 - A Certificate IV in Information technology support and/or an equivalent qualification or previous experience.
  • Proficient in the installation and troubleshooting of Office 365 and other applications.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, relational database management systems, and ITIL framework.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
