Cessnock City Council seeks to appoint a highly motivated and experienced senior executive with a proven track record who can provide strong leadership, change management and continuous improvement in support of Council’s strategic capacity and direction. Reporting to the Mayor and accountable directly to the Council, the General Manager will lead a multi-disciplined team responsible for the strategic, social and economic sustainability of the community.
You will have a successful track record of achievement in a senior executive role within the local government sector with proven ability managing complex budgets, ability to inspire direction and purpose, develop and deliver long term strategic plans and work closely and in partnership with the Council and the community to achieve the organisation’s goals and priorities. You will possess relevant degree qualifications and an understanding of Integrated Planning and Reporting requirements for Local Government and the challenges facing contemporary Local Government practices.
