Wingecarribee Shire Council is undergoing significant transformation in response to new organisational leadership and an informed and engaged community.  After a period of instability, the newly appointed General Manager’s priorities are to rebuild Council’s engagement with the community, enhance service delivery and create a responsive, resilient and agile organisation.  To support these priorities, the General Manager is now seeking to appoint a new leadership team to deliver innovative solutions for the community. 

 

Wingecarribee Shire Council is located in the beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW.  Covering 2,700 square kilometres and characterised by natural bush, deep sandstone gorges, and rural landscapes, the Shire is scattered by small towns and villages, many of which are historical and attractive tourist destinations.  In addition to tourism, other economic drivers of the region include agriculture, manufacturing, education, health and construction.  The area is also home to two significant rivers and three major dams, and is a key water catchment area for both Sydney and Wollongong.

 

As a member of Council’s Executive Team, the Director Corporate Strategy and Resourcing will work collaboratively with Councillors, the General Manager and the Executive team to:

  • ensure systems and resources are aligned to both Council and organisational strategies and priorities;
  • effectively support service and project delivery to perform across finance, risk, information technology, communications and customer service;
  • enable innovative services that deliver organisational efficiency and effectiveness;
  • energise, inspire and support a committed team.

 

With relevant tertiary qualifications, an understanding of Local Government and deep experience in leading creative ITC and internal service solutions, you will have a track record in innovative and agile leadership.  You will have delivered effective business solutions that provide value and support service delivery.  Candidates will have exceptional communications skills, astute political judgement, strong solutions focus and sound financial acumen.  The ability to develop and nurture effective stakeholder relationships internally and externally is essential as is the ability to balance competing community and Council priorities.
