The Administration Officers provide proactive and professional administration support to all sections of the Waste Cleansing Services and Infrastructure Services teams


2 x Permanent Full time positions - Administration Officer


  • Salary $60,531.64 - $70,216.93 p/a + super
  • Permanent Full time – 35 hours per week
  • Minimum typing speed - 55 WPM
  • Previous experience required


Located 16 kms north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 127,000 residents and is set in one of New South Wales’ most attractive natural environments.


Ku-ring-gai Council is seeking two professional and enthusiastic individuals to join our Operations Development Team in the positions of Administration Officers. Both Administration Officers will report into the Senior Administration Officer, one with a focus on Waste and Cleaning Services and the other will focus on Infrastructure Services.


Reporting to the Senior Administration Officer, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide administrative support for Manager, Supervisors and Technical staff for Waste and Cleansing Services, Infrastructure Services and other sections as required
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of Council’s policies and fees, particularly in relation to Council’s on ground operations
  • Ensuring all customer enquiries and concerns are dealt with in accordance with Department procedures and standards
  • Assist in the training of existing and new staff in the use of Council’s systems and any new upgrades
  • Create, update, reallocate and close Customer requests, TRIM and Workorders daily as well as workflow electronic mail to relevant officers.


Required experience & skills:

  • Post-secondary qualifications in Administrative/Secretarial/Office and/or extensive relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in an administrative role with a high volume of work
  • High level computer literacy especially in the use of MS Office software
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of an electronic records management system such as TRIM
  • Minimum typing speed of 55 WPM
