The role

This position is responsible for supporting community recovery following the 2019/2020 Bushfires. The role will involve you providing a high level of support and advice to development stakeholders and supporting the running and encouraging participation across community event activities. You will provide leadership and promote capacity within the community to identify needs, develop local recovery programs and assist with accessing information and resources post-bushfires. 

 

The person

We are currently looking for a candidate with demonstrated knowledge within community development, capable of facilitating community consultation and self-determination.

This will require:

  • Diploma/degree/certificate in social work, social sciences or community welfare/development
  • Demonstrated experience in community development 
  • Capacity to undertake flexible hours of work and interstate travel when required
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence

 

The package: Salary circa $85,000 p.a. plus superannuation, negotiable dependent on skills and experience. Vehicle arrangements to be discussed with successful candidate.

Location: This position will be based around the MidCoast Council Region and will require travel between Council sites. In the future, your normal place of work will be the Council Offices at 2 Biripi Way Taree. When the time comes for you to move to Biripi Way, four weeks’ notice will be provided. 

Tenure: Full time, Temporary (12 month contract).
