Snowy Monaro Regional Council Full Time Permanent 24/01/2020

Snowy Monaro Regional Council was formed by NSW Government proclamation on 12 May 2016 by the merger of the former Bombala, Cooma-Monaro and Snowy River Local Government Areas and is in South Eastern NSW, reaching from the ACT border in the north to the Victorian border in the south. The newly formed region is located on land traditionally home to the Ngarigo, Walgalu, Bidawal and Southern Ngunnawal people and covers a diverse geographic area with a varied social and economic profile. From the tourism-driven snowfields to vast timber forests, across the sweeping Monaro Plains and the iconic and rugged Snowy River, through quaint country villages and modern regional centres, the Snowy Monaro region has it all.

The region has enormous potential with the commencement of the Snowy 2.0 project, and the recent announcement of Jindabyne as the home for the Special Activation Precinct (SAP) to increase year-round tourism and make the region an unmissable place to visit any season, any time.

Each of these roles will require significant experience at a senior management level. You will be a highly motivated and dynamic individual with a passion for progress and innovation. You will be able to demonstrate genuine leadership qualities, strategic, visionary and lateral thinking approach and an understanding of a changing culture. You will also have a demonstrated capacity to build effective and productive relationships both within the organisation and with external stakeholders. As part of the executive management team, you will be responsible for the collective strategic direction of the organisation.
