About the role
THIS POSITION IS FOR A TEMPORARY 12 MONTH PERIOD
An exciting and demanding technology leadership opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join the City of Parramatta Council’s Information Technology team.
Your main responsibilities will be to ensure Council’s IT environment is secure in line with the IT Security Plan. You will achieve this by maintaining and improving the cyber security environment for the Council; establishing an understanding of the existing environment and developing the processes and procedures to maintain currency. In addition you will be required to provide input to the broader cyber security program in relation to evaluating the existing environment, monitoring rends in the industry and proposing changes to improve the cyber security environment.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be expected to:
- Develop and action the Cyber Security operations plan Identify the key priorities and projects for the plan.
- Monitor security status and alerts, respond as necessary and make recommendations to improve overall system proficiency.
- Maintain and update the IT Cyber Security Plan and associated policies.
- Develop and deploy security awareness training to ensure staff and partners remain alert to potential cyber security risks.
- Ensure Council’s IT environment is secured in line with the requirements of the IT Security Plan; and Accurately report issues, risks and performance metrics to the IT Management Team.
To achieve this, you will be working as part of the cohesive Technical Solutions team. Your work will enable Council to ensure cyber security technology is kept up to date and relevant to the organisation.
