Dubbo Regional Council was proclaimed by the NSW Government on 12 May 2016 following the amalgamation of the former Dubbo City and Wellington councils. Dubbo Regional Council is home to more than 51,000 people and includes the dynamic city of Dubbo, the heritage-rich town of Wellington and many villages and properties that make up a diverse farming area. Spread over 7,500 square kilometres in the heart of Western NSW Council is responsible for assets valued at $2.35 billion and an annual budget of $195 million.

Dubbo Regional Council seeks to appoint a suitably qualified, highly motivated and experienced senior executive with a proven track record who can provide strong leadership, change management and continuous improvement in support of Council’s strategic capacity and direction. Reporting to the Mayor and accountable directly to the Council, the Chief Executive Officer will lead a multi-disciplined team responsible for the strategic, social and economic sustainability of the community.
To be successful in this role you will have a solid record of achievement and success as a leader with highly developed political acumen as well as the ability to develop effective relationships and negotiate and influence positive outcomes for the community. As a progressive leader you will have strong commercial judgement and possess a high-level understanding of best practice systems, change management principles and customer delivery standards.
