Join Napier City Council's City Services Team as a Water Serviceperson and be a crucial contributor to maintaining and improving our Water Supply and Council assets. Your role will be focused on concrete and reinstatement works, but will encompass various other tasks, from conducting maintenance and construction work to ensuring the smooth operation of water reticulation networks.
Additionally, you'll be primarily responsible for the reinstatement works involving repairing and constructing concrete surfaces such as footpaths, motor and pram crossings, kerb and channels, to the highest standards and within set timelines. You will be part of the water supply team, responsible for operation, maintenance and construction of the water network in Napier.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the reinstatement works of jobs for your team and other departments
- Assist in the efficient operation and maintenance of water reticulation networks
- Promptly address customer service requests and provide comprehensive feedback to the Team Leader Water
- Assist in the efficient operation of water reticulation networks and contribute to reinstatement work
- Identify and report significant faults promptly to the Team Leader Water
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of plant, vehicles, workplace, and tools for future use
- Execute repairs and construction of concrete surfaces to high standards and in an efficient manner
- Foster strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders related to city water supply
To thrive in this role, ideal candidates should possess:
- National Certificate in Utilities Maintenance or Water Reticulation
- Prior experience with concrete and civil works and reinstatement is essential
- Experience in constructing and maintaining water supply reticulation networks and components
- Proficiency in traffic management procedures
- Ability to collaborate within a team and work independently with minimal supervision
- Capability to work in confined spaces
- Valid, clean driver's license with heavy vehicle endorsement
This is a full-time opportunity, working Monday to Friday (42.5 hours per week)
