Community Engagement Officer (re-advertised)

Shellharbour Council has an opportunity for an experienced Community Engagement Officer to join our Community Engagement and Activation team working specifically on engagement for our extensive capital and assets renewal programs. Utilising skills and experience, you will develop, design and implement engagement programs, surveys and online engagement activities. Additionally, you will conduct statistical analysis of resident feedback and compile high quality analytical and interpretive reports.

You will demonstrate effective interpersonal skills by establishing a positive working relationship with a broad range of stakeholders as well as developing broad ranging communications and engagement strategies to promote Council’s projects, priorities and services to help maintain the integrity and accuracy of information to the community. You will be able to identify emerging critical issues and develop and implement issues management strategies in conjunction with the Community Engagement and Activation team.

The Community Engagement and Activation team are passionate, energetic and have a positive, pro-active team culture. Our ideal candidate is passionate advocate for engagement, a strategic thinker, a great team player and must have significant and broad experience in the design and delivery of engagement campaigns and programs.

  • Permanent full time, 35 hours per week with access to flexi-time 
  • Commencing salary range from $70,413.20 - $73,257.60 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
