What you will do

  • Assist with the operation and maintenance of Councils water and wastewater systems, including treatment plants and pump stations.
  • Record results of water quality testing and maintenance activities. 
  • Support repairs and maintenance under supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and relevant regulatory requirements. 
  • Complete a Certificate III Water Industry  Operations through a Registered Training Organisation. 

What we are looking for

Essential Requirements

  • Higer School Certificate
  • Willingness to complete Certificate III in Water Industry Operations.
  • willingness to complete NSW Fluoride Operators Certificate.
  • Strong interest and demonstrated ability in mathematics and science.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions. 
  • White card – Work safely in the Construction Industry.

Desirable Requirements

  • Digital literacy (e.g. use of tablets, mobile apps).
  • A current NSW Drivers Licence (or workings towards one).

Salary: In accordance with the Trainee Band under the Local Government (State) Award 2023 + adverse working conditions allowance + 12% superannuation.

Position Status: Temporary full-time, up to two (2) years

Hours of work: 38 hours per week with an RDO every second week.
