Council is seeking highly motivated, dynamic, hands on communication professional to manage all aspects of its public relations, awards, events and communication programs.  A key focus of the role is to ensure that information about Council is communicated in way that responds to the changing needs of our society.  Responsibilities range from production of publications, protocol and media support for the Mayor, overseeing all civic events, media relations, crisis management, change management, promotional activities and online community engagement.  You will also be required to implement internal communication improvement programs and assist with strategies to enhance staff engagement.

To be considered for this position you will have:-

• A tertiary qualification in a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience in public relations, communications, events and community engagement
• Proven ability in developing and implementing public relations strategy designed to enhance corporate image
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Experience in leading and developing a team
• Demonstrated knowledge of social media technology and consultation platforms
