SENIOR STRATEGIC LAND USE PLANNING OFFICER

THE POSITION:
Fairfield City Council is seeking to appoint an innovative Senior Strategic Planner to join its Strategic Land Use Planning Team
The role will be primarily responsible for leading land use planning projects that assist in achieving Council's land use planning objectives which in the short to medium term involves the preparation of a new Comprehensive LEP and the supporting Development Control Plans, Developer Contribution 94 Plans, managing the Section 149 Certificate System and other policies required to implement Council’s land use planning framework.
To be considered for the position, applicants should address all the essential requirements outlined in the Position Description including:
• Professional qualification in Land Use Planning or related field
• Excellent team work, interpersonal skills and experience of working in a
multidisciplinary team,
• Significant experience in leadership roles project managing team that deliver Strategic
Land Use Planning Projects,
• An ability to think strategically to achieve innovative and equitable outcomes,
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience of planning legislation and statutory
processes; and
• A commitment to delivering best value for the community.
Candidates ideally will have substantial experience in development and implementation of Land Use Planning strategies in a local government context.
SALARY/WAGE/CONDITIONS:
• This is a permanent position working 35 hours per week.
• The position is classified at Grade 9 under Council’s salary system. The starting salary for Grade 9 positions is currently $81,787 per annum.
• A leaseback vehicle is available with this position.
