He angitūtanga: The opportunity
As the Information Security Manager, you will oversee the supervision and development of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) specialists within the CISO office. As a Leader, you will formulate and maintain the Information Security Policy with our associated Standards and Guidelines, manage our ICT Risk Register, complete reporting on the risk profile, and ensure sustained adherence to our PCI DSS standards.

 

You will also be involved in coordinating our Security Awareness programs throughout Auckland Council, provide valuable support to the Security Consultants and Architects about integrating Auckland Council security policies to their current key ICT projects. This role is critical and essential for Auckland Council to ensure we fortify our digital defenses and uphold a resilient security framework.

We are looking for candidates who possess a strong blend of leadership and people management skills, coupled with effective interpersonal capabilities for seamless communication, rapport-building, and negotiation across diverse organizational levels. Demonstrating expertise in Governance, Information Security, Compliance, and Risk Management, you should have a high degree of business acumen and can balance pragmatism and prescription through effective risk management.

 

Tertiary-level qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent industry certification, or extensive relevant business experience, are prerequisites. If you have a decade of experience in Information Security, including 5+ years in a leadership role within political or highly complex organizations, and can showcase a track record of successful GRC management in medium to large, complicated organizations then this role is for you.
